Save Rave’s Graduation

The Issue

LHS does not want to give Rave his cap and gown (that we paid for) to take pictures in with his friends and family because of his blended homeschool/online/LHS credits.

The district cannot, or will not have time to review all of the evidences of his homeschool efforts before graduation, and thereby LHS will not allow him to pick up his pre-paid graduation attire per current guidelines for graduation.

Rave’s extenuating circumstances have been plentiful including his extremely rare genetic disorder, Triple A Syndrome, and his severe dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.  He began a blended schedule in 4th grade due to large amounts of time spent out of school for surgeries, illness, endless doctor appointments, and common emergency room visits.  He also missed school for private tutoring from world recognized literacy specialists that we sought out and were blessed by immensely at Reading Horizons.

Rave has an IEP turned 504 to try and bridge the learning difference gap, but sadly, not all educators treated Rave with a positive and encouraging outlook.  Some repeatedly told him and his parents that he was just lazy and disrespectful.

Not true.

Rave’s Momma Bear has a college degree in education, specifically mathematics and language/fine arts, and was prepared to accelerate Rave’s access to dedicated, supportive, one-on-one teaching to maximize his learning potential.

Rave has been reviewed by and accepted to every college he has applied for with scholarship offers to each.  We ONLY WANT A FEW PICTURES IN HIS WELL-EARNED CAP AND GOWN from LHS!!!

Much Love!
