Save Raleigh Drift Complex from licensing issues
The issue
Raleigh Drift Complex is not just a track to me it’s more than asphalt and barriers; it’s my haven, my sanctuary. For me, and many others in the community, drifting at Raleigh is a vital part of our mental health journey. It's a place where we find camaraderie, purpose, and a safe space to pursue our passion.
Through my own experience with Drift for Mental Health, I’ve seen firsthand how places like Raleigh Drift Complex create a safe, supportive community that helps people reconnect, rebuild confidence, and improve their mental wellbeing. For many of us, this track isn’t just about cars it’s therapy, connection, and belonging
Recently, the Raleigh Drift Complex has encountered licensing issues with the local council, threatening all 2025 drift events. This jeopardizes a thriving community that includes drivers, crews, families, and fans who converge here from across New South Wales and beyond.
For over 42 years, Raleigh has been the heart of grassroots motorsport a place where every kind of racing has found a home. From drifting and time attack to rallycross, bikes, karts, and even WRC events, this track has done it all and continues to unite the motorsport community like no other.
Losing the events at Raleigh Drift Complex would be more than just a loss of sport it could dismantle a community that offers more than what meets the eye. The track supports local businesses, provides a safe environment for enthusiasts to practice their skills, and fosters positive, constructive outlets for many people, including young people who might otherwise stray from healthy paths.
Statistics show that automotive sports like drifting not only boost local economies but also promote road safety by offering a controlled environment for high-speed driving. The venue’s potential closure due to licensing issues means the possible collapse of these safeguards and economic benefits.
We call upon Coffs Harbour community members, stakeholders, and all motorsport lovers to rally together and support Raleigh Drift Complex in this time of need.
Please help us protect our community, foster safe driving habits, and retain this vital resource for mental health and regional development. Sign and share this petition to ensure that Raleigh Drift Complex remains unchanged.
