The Issue

Petition to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors & Mayor’s Office

Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is at serious risk—and that means San Francisco’s homeless and marginalized residents are at risk too.

On May 30, 2025, PHC received a 30-day defunding notice from the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH), which would take effect on June 30, 2025.

This decision could shut down critical services that thousands of unhoused individuals rely on every day.

Why PHC Must Be Saved:
PHC is vital—helping people access housing, shelter, medical care, and crisis intervention before emergencies escalate.

✅ PHC reduces public costs—preventing unnecessary ER visits, long-term shelter stays, and law enforcement interventions, saving the City millions in taxpayer dollars.

PHC provides real solutions—helping individuals overcome barriers to stability through benefits enrollment, legal aid, employment readiness, and harm reduction support.

Defunding PHC is a step backward for San Francisco. It will leave thousands without help, increase homelessness, and push more people toward desperate survival measures.

How You Can Help:
