Save Pet Paradise JFK – A Vital Part of Our Houston Pet Community

Pet Paradise has announced the upcoming closure of its JFK location in Houston, TX, effective September 21, 2025. For many of us, this news is heartbreaking. The JFK facility has been more than just a pet boarding and day camp—it’s been a trusted, caring home-away-from-home for our beloved pets.

The company cited lease expiration, maintenance costs, and the proximity of other locations as reasons for the decision. While we understand that operating a large facility comes with challenges, we were surprised to learn that Pet Paradise is also preparing to open a brand-new location in Viera, Florida. This expansion suggests that growth is still possible, which gives us hope that the JFK location might be saved with the right support and solutions.

We believe the JFK location plays a unique and irreplaceable role in our community. Its dedicated staff, spacious facility, and convenient location have earned the trust of countless pet parents. Closing it would not only disrupt our routines—it would take away a place where our pets feel safe, loved, and cared for.

Equally important are the incredible team members who make this facility so special. Their compassion, professionalism, and deep love for animals have created a warm and welcoming environment that’s hard to find. We don’t want to see these hardworking individuals lose their jobs or be separated from the pets and families they’ve come to know so well.

While we’re sure the other local Pet Paradise facilities and their staff are amazing too, JFK is home. It’s where so many of us have built lasting relationships—with the staff, with other pet parents, and with the community. We’re not just losing a building—we’re losing a part of our extended family.

We respectfully ask Pet Paradise to reconsider this closure and explore alternatives that could keep the JFK location open. These might include:

• Renegotiating lease terms
• Exploring community partnerships
• Adjusting operational strategies to reduce costs

We recognize the complexities involved in running a business, but we also believe that the needs of Houston pet owners—and the well-being of our pets and the staff who care for them—deserve thoughtful consideration.
