Two of our parking garages may be torn down or built on top of. This meeting is super important as we will finally see at least three proposed buildings. The community needs to come out and express their concerns now; not when these buildings are being built or when people are moving in. Please read below for more of our concerns.

We have concerns about proposed rezoning that could affect quality of life due to over-development: Parking, school overcrowding, congestion, blocking of views, light and ventilation are some of the concerns we have. We encourage all our members to log into the meeting below to give your input and let them know the needs of the community.
Buildings of similar height of Parkchester buildings could be built across the street from Parkchester on north side of E Tremont with proposed zoning changes.
Zoning changes to land our garages sit on to residential could lead to them being torn down or built on top of them.
Corner of Guerlain St, E Tremont & Unionport Rd: Proposed zoning changes could lead to buildings taller than 13 floors.

School overcrowding
Crime and security

Blocking of views, light and breezes.
What Parkchester Watch Group wants to see in this plan
A new elementary school
NYPD security cameras on E Tremont Ave
A MTA police substation in train station
A plan to minimize traffic jams.
A public parking structure with spaces set aside for monthly parking.
Different zoning for vacant lot on f E Tremont and Unionport Rd to be in scale with heights of our buildings around 13 floors.
Protections to keep from Parkchester Condo’s garages, management office or heat plant from being torn down or built upon. (Do not change the zoning to residential.
Buildings of approximately 4 floor height across street of E Tremont Ave to ‘step down’ the height of our buildings.
