Save Palestinian Women in the Gaza Strip

Save Palestinian Women in the Gaza Strip
The Issue
Subject: Urgent Petition to Address the Humanitarian Crisis in the Gaza Strip
To whom it may concern,
Since October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has been enduring relentless Israeli attacks utilizing a variety of internationally prohibited weapons, including white phosphorus, concussion grenades, and thermobaric weapons. These attacks are disproportionately affecting civilians, resulting in the tragic loss of 45 thousand Palestinians, either killed, injured, or missing under the rubble. Shockingly, 70% of the victims are women and children.
The situation has escalated to a dire state where hospitals in the Gaza Strip are incapacitated, leaving patients without access to essential medical resources and resulting in preventable deaths. Furthermore, life essentials such as food, water, fuel, and medicine are being deliberately denied entry, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Compounding the urgency of the matter, the bodies of the deceased are decomposing, posing an imminent threat of pandemics, including dermatological diseases and other epidemic illnesses.
Disturbingly, two-thirds of the population, more than one and a half million people, have been displaced, with hundreds of families entirely wiped out and removed from the civic registry. The Gaza Strip is now isolated from the world due to the Israeli siege, creating an environment of despair and desperation.
The Israeli Occupation Forces are starving people as a collective Punishment
Premature infants are losing their lives due to the sieging of hospitals and the cutting off of energy resources required to operate oxygen generators. The situation in Gaza is nothing short of genocide
In the West Bank, the Israeli army and settlers are increasingly attacking Palestinians through killing and mass arrest campaigns
In light of this grave humanitarian crisis, and taking into consideration that the Israeli occupation is violating International Law and International Humanitarian law, we urgently call on the:
United Nations- Represented in His Excellency- Secretary-General.
United Nations Human Rights Council
High Commissioner of Human Rights
The Various International Actors
The Egyptian Government to:
* Oblige the Occupation State (Israel) to adhere to International Law and International Humanitarian Law, demanding an immediate cessation of the aggression.
* Open immediate Human Corridors to provide Palestinians in the Gaza Strip with life essentials, including food, water, and medicine.
* Urge the United Nations to take measures to ensure the special protection of women in accordance with the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.
* Activate Section VII of the United Nations and impose sanctions on the Occupying Power to put an end to its flagrant violations of International Law and International Humanitarian Law.
* Initiate a thorough investigation into Israeli crimes by the International Criminal Court, ensuring accountability for military and political leaders who may be responsible for these atrocities.
The international community cannot remain silent in the face of such egregious violations of human rights and international law. Immediate intervention is crucial to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Sincerely,
