The photo was taken last week in my back garden in Owlthorpe.

What we see is the spent fuel from jet engines as it falls back to earth. This is the pollution nobody wants to talk about. This coupled with the overdevelopment of properties in the Owlthorpe area is contributing to the pure health and wellbeing of Owlthorpe residents.

“In SCC Planning Meeting 2nd June 2020, Cllr Chris Rosling-Josep explained the impact of property development in Sheffield South East. With the expansion of Crystal Peaks, the building of Asda, Darkhouse, Aldi and other developments is having an impact on the highways. Many of the roads are gridlocked with traffic queuing in many areas especially around Crystal Peaks.”

One other consideration, is from my bedroom window I look across the valley, I see the traffic on the M1 at the point it meets the M18. When the wind is in our direction the pollution from the many diesel lorry’s carries across the valley and lands in Owlthorpe.

In my opinion Sheffield South east is saturated with new property developments. We need to keep our green spaces such as Owlthorpe Heritage & Nature Trail for our health and wellbeing.

A big thank you to the 1,465 who, in such a short period of time, have signed our petition to Sheffield City Council: https://chng.it/6vXHqcGG4S  Please continue to support our campaign and request friends and family to also sign. Numbers are important: Policy makers are aware of our campaign and are beginning to take notice.  It is by working together that we can change hearts and minds and curb the over-development of vital green spaces.

Thank you for your attention

Kind Regards

Michael Meredith
