I just wanted to say a big thankyou to all our supporters. Dated 4th April 2023 : 726 have now signed the petition to Sheffield City Council: https://chng.it/6vXHqcGG4S and 156 have signed our petition to the Parliamentary Ombudsman: https://chng.it/FPc7X4Nq Please let friends and family know about our campaign. As we say on our website, “public opinion is a very strong tool. It is by working together that we can change hearts and minds and curb the over-development of vital green spaces, especially when mature and valuable trees are threatened with the axe. Numbers are important: politicians take notice when they feel a sufficient threat to their re-election.”

As we emerge from the Covid pandemic we need our green spaces. Many who have had Covid are finding it a long and difficult process to recover as I personally have found. I was so pleased to read this statement from Natural England, published 2nd February 2023 https://www.gov.uk/government/news/natural-england-unveils-new-green-infrastructure-framework "Natural England's commitment is that the public should be able to access green space or water, such as woodlands, wetlands, parks and rivers, within a 15-minute walk from their home." I am hopeful that Sheffield (LPA) will listen to the Government.

The photo of Daffodils was taken today in Owlthorpe Heritage & Nature Trail.

Thank you all

Michael Meredith
