As a rural village in the heart of Northamptonshire, with a population of 600+ people of mixed ages from the very young to the very old, we rely on the local village shop to offer daily groceries, papers and as safe familiar base for the elderly.

The current owner of the shop has applied to change the use of the building to a 4 bedroom house due to their current business model not being as fruitful as they would like. Many of the villagers are in-aware this application has been made and they are all distraught at the thought of losing this important amenity in the heart of the village. We all have the thought that once converted, the property will be sold on, making the only person who will benefit the current businessman and the loss to the village being much harder felt.

As a community we would like to give the local council planners a united fight against the proposed application.

Please sign this petition as a matter of urgency as Daventry District Council meet to discuss the application on Thursday 18th May at 6.15pm. I would like to present this petition along with local signatures opposing such application.
