Save Our Vet Clinic

Save Our Vet Clinic
The issue
We are a small community on the east coast of Tasmania in St Helens, and we have one veterinarian who wants to offer his services to the community but has been restricted by the Tasmanian Vet Board. This is an unfair punishment of the East Coast community through this punishment of Dr Byrne. There MUST be a better way. Why punish us? The Clinic provides an essential service that is now denied. He took on the business when the last veterinarian retired and the Vet Board was fully aware he was going to be the only veterinarian in the practice. We are on the edge of Tourist Season, when the people and their animals flood to the coast. Dogs, cats, and wildlife are already dying of snakebite, car trauma, dog attacks and other such drama’s that can’t travel 1-2 hours for help. This is a black mark on our community to NOT have a 21st Century service to help these animals. The service that was provided by Dr Byrne until May, when the Veterinary Board decided to punish the East Coast animals, was faultless, and above satisfactory.
The service from Dr Byrne’s Clinic has enabled many people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to own a pet have the company of a pet, with the knowledge that if something went wrong, Dr Byrne would be there to help.
Please help our community by finding a solution to this situation.
