Reinstate the Tree Protection Ordinance!

Please EMAIL the Whittier City Council at ccd@cityofwhittier.org by Aug. 25 asking them to REINSTATE our city’s Tree Protection Ordinance that was suspended by the previous City Council.  

Mature, shady trees are irreplaceable public assets that improve air quality, reduce extreme heat, strengthen the environment, and preserve the character and beauty of our neighborhoods. The city council members were elected to represent the residents; however,  myself and over 8,270 people signed the petition at www.SaveOurTreesWhittier.com and our pleas have not been answered.  We want the City to protect our healthy trees and to plant more trees in empty tree wells.
