The Household Waste & Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Ivy Road, Aldershot, is under threat of closure in the next round of cuts by Hampshire County Council (HCC).

Cllr Rob Humby, HCC Executive Member for Environment and Transport, decided on 19 September that there should be a review to reduce the costs of HCC's HWRCs by £1.2 million-a-year.

Closure of up to half the HWRCs will result in longer travel distances for users to dispose of their waste – for example, Aldershot residents would have to travel to Farnborough, if the Aldershot HWRC was to close.
