Protect our teachers!

The DC government is currently deciding the distribution of school funds for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

On behalf of the School Without Walls community, we are deeply outraged as the proposed budget leaves School Without Walls just over 235K short of our operational needs, meaning two staff positions will be cut-- which could ultimately eliminate our Theatre program. 

School Without Walls has worked for years to build a reputation for being a uniquely diverse community that embraces those of multiple cultures, identities, and student interests. Cutting these programs will close doors in the arts-- which play a vital role in shaping what School Without Walls is today. 

Keeping educational staff should be the unequivocal priority of our government, especially at a small school like Walls. 

Help us demand that the City Council and the Office of the Mayor revise the budget and keep the Walls community whole. Through this petition, we hope to unite the voices of the Walls community to ensure our teachers can continue to be a part of it.
