SAVE OUR SUBJECTS

The Issue

SAVE OUR SUBJECTS: tell Perth & Kinross Council (PKC) to halt plans which threaten Breadalbane Academy curriculum

On 4 September 2018, PKC voted to work on plans to expand Pitlochry High School (a neighbouring school). If these plans go ahead, they will create two small S1-S6 secondary schools, instead of the one big one, Breadalbane Academy, we have today.

PKC's own education specialists have said this would be detrimental to pupils at both schools.

That means two smaller schools, both offering fewer courses than Breadalbane does today. And these crazy plans won't even save money, in fact they will increase costs to taxpayers. Yes, you read that right. If this goes ahead, PKC is going to spend more of taxpayer's money but deliver less for pupils.

To stop this ill-informed and untested plan for our schools, we need you to give Councillors a clear and urgent message: listen to experts and don't take away subjects that our kids enjoy and need to get on in life.

For the sake of all pupils in Highland Perthshire, sign this petition right now, share it with your friends, and send PKC back to the council chamber to think again.
