SAVE OUR SKATE PARK @ Sutcliffe Park tell Better.org to stand by there community promise
The Issue
The Non-For-Profit Company ‘Better.org.uk’ are attempting to take away the indoor skate park @ Sutcliffe Park leisure to make way for a gymnasium, a way for them to make a profit, despite declaring otherwise: ‘We are a charitable social enterprise and GLL is a not for profit charitable social enterprise they say they are committed to delivering a better quality of fitness and leisure libraries and performing arts facilities’. Despite stating that they committed to delivering better quality of life, they are attempting to remove the indoor Skate Park, one of very few left, with several having already closed (House of Vans) or due to close down (Barking Skate Park). The closing of this skate park will have an enormous impact on a range of people, from young to old, beginner to experienced. This space is used by the many, not the few, and it provides a space that many people can get together as a community and have fun despite all differences. It takes away from the physical, social and mental outlet that the skate park provides for our community. Better.org.uk need to stand by their promise to communities, instead of taking away such a precious community outlet to put profits above the social and mental well-being of our community.
Do not let them destroy another skate park, OUR skate park, to better their profits.
Stand with us to protect our skate park!
