Save Our Shelter

The Issue

Cyber Bullying is REAL. Apple Valley Animal Shelter and their staff are under viscous attack by social media animal networking bullies that don't live in our community.  These bullies are harassing the staff and putting out malicious inaccurate statistics about the shelter. They claim to want the Town to close the doors of our beloved animal shelter.  This social media bullying needs to stop. Apple Valley Animal Shelter was built by our community through fundraisers and generous donations.  The dogs and cats are fed mainly through donations from this same community.  Medical care for some of these animals is often funded by this amazingly generous community.  Time and time again pets are reunited with their families. Several feral packs have found rescue. More times than I can count animals who had been abused have found love for the first time with the help of caring staff from this shelter.  We love our shelter and the staff that cares and finds homes/rescue for the animals.  Social Media lies should not be tolerated.  Without this shelter, homeless dogs and cats will continue to suffer on the streets. There will be nowhere to take them for food, shelter, medical care and a second chance to be adopted into a loving home. The Rescue organizations who have partnered with this shelter are AMAZING.  Where would we look for lost pets? FB has a couple thousand pages for lost and found pets and none of them are the same. Are we to search for lost pets among a thousand pages of FB nonsense instead of one central location? Who would care for our lost pet if he/she were to get injured by a car while lost? Show your support of our community shelter by signing this petition.  We need to show our local government how much the community appreciates everything our shelter staff does to help the animals of this community.  This petition will be taken to our Town Council as proof our shelter is appreciated, and that the community still stands behind them.
