Save our school nursery from closure

Save our school nursery from closure
The Issue
Cranbrook Primary school in ilford have decided to close down their nursery! My children attend both the school and nursery that is now under closure from the 18th December 2025. This issue is deeply personal to me, as I am not only a parent but also an active member of the community and a working parent. The nursery has been an integral part of our daily routine, providing a seamless transition for school drop-offs and pick-ups. It has enabled families like mine to balance work and home life effectively.
The nursery, which has been open since the inception of the school, is more than just a place for childcare. It is a cherished component of our local heritage and community, playing a crucial role in supporting numerous families. For many of us, it represents the foundation upon which our children's educational journey begins. It is in this nurturing environment that our children form essential bonds and friendships, making their first connections with peers and their first steps in education.
The closure of this nursery would disrupt the lives of many families and sever a vital part of our community fabric. It would mean the loss of an important support system that many parents rely on for their children and themselves. It is not just a matter of convenience; it is about preserving an institution that underpins our community's wellbeing and unity.
To the decision-makers and stakeholders involved in this decision, we urge you to reconsider the closure and recognize the profound impact it would have on our community and families. Explore alternative solutions such as community partnerships, additional funding, or resource optimization to keep the nursery running. Let's work together to preserve this essential service for current and future generations.
Please join me in signing this petition to save our nursery and ensure that our children can continue their journey in a supportive and familiar environment.
