Our timeline is short. The school board meets for the last time before the new school year this Thursday, July 13th and we need to show them that the community is opposed to school bus cuts.

In the second petition we are specifically asking for at least a 1 year suspension of all school bus service cuts in order to: 

1) Better assess safety and plan for safety in new non-transportation areas for all children including those children without advocates.

2) Convene a committee with broad stakeholder representation to brainstorm alternatives that do not require any school bus service cuts. After the committee convenes, we would like the school board to have a public hearing for input on all options available.

It is alarming that a public hearing was never held for a decision that creates school bus loss for thousands of children and their families that rely on service. Please advocate for change.

The school board is now aware of community concerns and we want them to act on them.
