Almost 1,000 of you have already taken our national red squirrel survey – and the message is loud and clear.

🔴 Over 97% believe red squirrels deserve far stronger protection than they currently receive.

🔴 Many were shocked to learn that while killing a red squirrel is illegal, destroying its habitat often isn’t.

That’s why we’re calling for urgent reform: proper enforcement, biodiversity safeguards, and legal protection that actually works.

Here’s what we’re hearing so far:

“We’ve already lost far too much. Don’t let red squirrels become the next casualty.”

“My children have never seen one. How can that be right?”

“They are part of our cultural identity – and we’re letting them vanish.”

This is about more than a beloved native species. It’s about protecting what’s left of our wild heritage – and making sure our laws do what they’re supposed to.
