When I started the Save Our Reds petition, I never imagined where it would lead.
More than 70,000 of you have now signed to protect England’s red squirrels. That collective voice matters.
Little Red: Warrior Squirrel grew directly from this campaign. What began as a poem became a story – one designed to help children understand what is at stake in our forests, and why red squirrels are worth fighting for.
The book currently holds a 4.7-star rating on Amazon with 16 reviews and continues to be read in homes, classrooms and woodland groups across the UK.
The final lines read:
“The woods remember, the woods remain,
In root and leaf, in branch and rain.
The woods remember, the woods remain,
But only if we guard the flame.”
If you would like to pass this message on to a child, school or grandchild, Little Red is available online via Waterstones and other retailers, and on Amazon here:

Campaigns change policy. Stories change hearts. And we need both.
