Thank you so much to everyone who entered our 'Little Red: Warrior Squirrel' festive giveaway - we had hundreds of entries, and we’re delighted to announce that the winner is Claudine in Edinburgh. Her signed copy will be sent out very soon, just in time for Christmas.
The giveaway may have closed, but the campaign is gathering strength as we head into 2026.
Nearly 70,000 people have now signed the petition to protect our native red squirrels and their woodland habitats.
In our recent public survey, more than 1,500 of you shared your views – with some truly heartfelt responses that showed just how much red squirrels mean to people across the UK. Many described them as magical, iconic, and deeply woven into our childhoods and cultural memory.
We’ll be sharing more from that survey soon, along with exciting campaign updates in the New Year, including:
- More from Little Red in the run-up to Red Squirrel Appreciation Day (21 January)
- A major petition delivery to decision-makers
- Fresh outreach to MPs, media, and conservation groups
