Save Our Pool + Snooker Hall, Object Planning Permission, 9 Montagu Street

Save Our Pool + Snooker Hall, Object Planning Permission, 9 Montagu Street
The Issue
Cuetopia, previously known as 'spot on', was made aware on the 19th of December 2023 that the building owner has put in for planning permission to turn the building into 30 new flats (meaning 3 more floors). Leaving a very well attended and historical local business with no premises to run.
We as a town have only until the 5th of January 2024 to oppose this.
With over 6000 members, 11+ members of staff and 30 years of business. This is a place that has for a large part been the heart of the community, where people have grown up going to and are now bringing the next generation. This is a place welcoming of all ages and skill as a community spot. A welcoming space with something to do when the town has so little left in the entertainment industry.
This will be taking a historic building and replacing them with a large amount of flats on a small plot of busy land. We need people to object the planning permission currently on the kettering.gov website. This means more then just saying how much the place means to people.
When you put in your comments here are some key objections you need to talk about and consider in order to be taken seriously;
Does the application meet with relevant policy, relevant a advice?The size, layout and external appearance of the building.
How the impact of the proposed building would harm the character or amenity of the area.
The impact on the amenities of the area in terms of privacy and sunlight. The effect its going to have on our already busy high traffic area, road access, visibility, parking and highway safety.
The appropriateness of the proposed land.
We need to act now before Kettering loses a real place of community and importance. Not just for the pool and snooker community but as a safe space shared by many.
If you can follow the link and make your voice herd now before it is too late.
