FOF hosted a stakeholder meeting re Fernglade today, to address some of the issues concerning us, and that we petitioned for. It was a good turn out, and we feel it was productive. We're expecting to see some more signage to help with illegal fires, and re not taking lobsters. The conservation level of the area will also be raised from that of a Conservation Area, to a Nature Conservation Area. These initiatives along with the new surveillance cameras & app, that Burnie City Council have installed in the Burnie region, should go towards addressing some of our concerns. A closer working relationship between FOF & BCC, with monthly meetings, should also result in a positive outcome for the area. The issue of fish traps is currently being looked into for FOF by a member of state government, and a way forward considered.
