Every 4th of July and a few days leading up to and after our pets are terrorized by people using fireworks in their backyards. They have no regard for the welfare of their neighbors pets or even their own. They claim to be animal lovers but they are clearly not. If these people could for just one half hour experience the terror and fear that an animal goes through I think they would change their whole attitude about backyard fireworks. Fireworks are ILLEGAL! If people want to see them they should go to an approved area where the fireworks are under the supervision of professional's. 

As a society that supposedly cares about our pets and animals. With all the laws that have been passed regarding animal abuse why do we allow this terrorizing abuse to continue? Think about that. Why?

It is time for local municipalities and state governments to ban the use of backyard fireworks and start imposing serious fines.

If fireworks were conducted in an approved area only, that would give us the pet owners time to prepare our animals. Such as a ride in the car or even turning up the tv or radio to help drown out the noise. But that canot be done when your neighbor suddenly starts lighting off fireworks.

It's time to act. For our pets wellbeing.
