Save our Neshotah Beach Concession Stand

Save our Neshotah Beach Concession Stand
The Issue
PETITION TO SAVE THE CONCESSION STAND AT NESHOTAH BEACH
We, the undersigned residents and supporters of Two Rivers, respectfully urge the City Council to preserve and restore the existing concession stand at Neshotah Beach rather than demolish it.
For decades, this stand has been more than a snack counter. It’s where children lined up with sandy feet for popsicles, where families grabbed ice cream after long afternoons at the beach, and where neighbors gathered to share simple summer moments. It is a piece of Two Rivers’ history — full of character, charm, and heart.
The proposed plan to replace it with a $2.5 million new facility would erase that history and replace it with something bland, gray, and soulless. At a time when our community has so many pressing needs, this project is not only unnecessary but also an irresponsible use of taxpayer dollars.
Preserving and restoring the concession stand would:
Honor our history and community identity rather than tearing it down.
Save money by focusing on repair and upgrades instead of wasteful spending.
Keep the character that makes Two Rivers a special place for residents and visitors alike.
We call on the City Council to:
Halt plans to demolish the current concession stand.
Explore cost-effective options for repair and renovation.
Involve the community in shaping a solution that preserves both our history and our future.
Let’s save what makes Two Rivers special — together.
