Miami Racing and Motorsports Park, Dade County, FL urges you to sign this petition for the reinstatement of a Recreational Motorsports Park under the RFP “04026 ” submitted and accepted by Dade County and being denied as of July 10th, 2023, by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. I, Mario L Ojito, along with my partner Brandon Roth, and on behalf of the South FL Racing community are shocked by the actions of the Mayor to deny creating a dedicated space for racing enthusiasts and their families.

We have for the past four years, worked diligently and at great financial expense, answering numerous requests for information to satisfy the county that we are qualified to operate a Motorsports Park. We negotiated and finally signed a lease to bring Miami Racing and Motorsports Park a world class Motorsports facility with a drag strip, drift pad, quad and motocross track, rally course and off-road experience to Opa-Locka West formerly known as Countyline Dragway which previously stated was denied by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

Instead of utilizing this potential facility for its intended purpose, the County plans to repurpose it for container storage or truck parking – an inadequate use that fails to address the needs of our community.

We call upon Miami-Dade County officials to reconsider their decision and prioritize the establishment of a recreational motorsports park in our area to meet the demand of racing enthusiasts and also to ensure public safety by providing an alternative to illegal street racing.
