Recently Kirklees council wrote to a number of workers (lollipop lady’s/men) and explained they would not longer be funding their positions. 

Days ago, these workers were updated these plans were to be put on hold and their positions would be funded ‘for the time being’. 

This means funding for these jobs could stop any day. 

People like Diane Farrow are not only lollipop ladies, they are a part of our community, they greet children every morning and evening and advise parents, they keep our children safe and are irreplaceable. 

Therefore we the undersigned totally oppose the council plans to cut funding for these vital roles.
