My mother, Margaret, is a resident at Dewar House Care Home. She has dementia and this place is her home. The thought of her losing it due to closure by South Lanarkshire council is heart-wrenching. This isn't just about my mother; it's about all the residents who call Dewar House their home.

Dewar House provides essential care for those living with dementia and residents are very much a part of the community. Its closure would not only displace its residents but also put an additional strain on other local care homes which are already operating at full capacity.

South Lanarkshire council must understand the devastating impact this decision will have on our loved ones and reconsider their decision. We urge them to find alternative solutions for their shortfall in funding that do not involve closing down such a vital facility in our community.
