Save our Heathcote shops—stop the morning parking changes

Save Heathcote shops—stop the morning parking changes
Transport for NSW plans to remove parking outside Heathcote shops on the Princes Highway from 6–8 a.m. Monday to Friday, starting 15 November 2026—among our busiest trading hours. Local MP Maryanne Stuart has supported these changes.
Adding a third lane for roughly 400 metres between Jennings Road and Veno Street, only for traffic to merge back into two lanes after Heathcote Road, raises a simple question: how much congestion will this actually solve?
We requested the traffic studies and business impact assessment through Maryanne Stuart, who advised that our request had been forwarded to the Minister’s office. We are still waiting for these documents. Transport for NSW did not visit or directly consult with us as affected business owners.
Any claimed time savings must be weighed against the risk of destroying the morning trade that keeps local businesses open.
As affected business owners, we understand Maryanne Stuart advocated for these changes without first consulting us. Despite raising our concerns, we have received no help from her in opposing the plan.
We call on Maryanne Stuart to withdraw her support and stand with the businesses, workers and community affected.
We call on the NSW Government and Transport for NSW to cancel these changes and retain morning parking outside Heathcote shops.
Sign to protect our local businesses, jobs and community.
