Merseyside Fire Service has submitted a planning application to build a new fire station on Green Belt land off Saughall Massie Road, next to sheltered accommodation. Local residents are totally opposed to this proposal, particularly as there are alternative sites nearby, with the option to also redevelop the existing Upton site
