Save our Ellesmere Centre post office

Save our Ellesmere Centre post office
The Issue
Having worked at the Ellesmere Centre alongside the Post Office for the last 12 years, I've had the privilege of witnessing first hand the vital role our Post Office plays in the lives of our community. For many residents, it's more than just a place to send parcels or pick up mail; it's a lifeline. Every day, countless individuals rely on its services for banking & bill payments etc. It's a cornerstone of community interaction, particularly for those who may not have easy access to transportation or the internet. With a large easily accessible car park, it makes it convenient for customers to stop and use the post office.
Unfortunately, our precious Post Office is under threat. Recently our beloved post mistress has endured a long spell of ill health and has decided to retire and after speaking with the post office there's a real danger that we could lose this essential service. The closure would not only inconvenience residents but also isolate those who depend on it for daily necessities.
Local businesses also depend on the Post Office for their operations, from sending out daily mail to purchasing Stamps, Envelopes, Postage Bags etc Its removal would create a ripple effect, negatively impacting the local economy. We need to act now to ensure our community retains this indispensable service.
In light of these challenges, We propose several actionable steps to safeguard our Ellesmere Centre Post Office:
1. Increase community awareness and support by Contacting local news oulets including local radio.
2. Engage with local government representatives to stress the importance of the Post Office.
Please join me in helping to save this vital cause. Sign this petition to urge our local government and the managing entities of the Post Office to take immediate action to secure its future. Together, we can make a powerful statement on behalf of our community and ensure that the Ellesmere Centre Post Office remains a lifeline for generations to come. Every signature counts. Thank you for your support.
