The City Council will vote tomorrow, Tuesday, August 2, on whether to reject or approve the re-zoning application of developer NAI Martens--Jeff Englert--to remove 40 mature shade trees and green space and replace them with apartments shoe-hornied into a narrow space along N McLean Blvd.

The neighborhood has let City officials know that trees and green space are important to them.  Neighborhood streets are walkable and neighbors enjoy walking their pets and interacting with each other.  The apartments will increase traffic on N Fern, N Vine and Millwood and make it much more difficult to walk the neighborhood.  Delano does not not have a lot of park-like areas or green space--this will harm the neighborhood.

Please join us at the City Council meeting that starts at 9AM.  You can park in the city hall parking lot.  We are down on the agenda so it may take a while.  Please sit with us if you can--a volunteer will be handing out stickers with 'Delano' written on them so we can identify each other.
