The City Council will vote this Tuesday, August 2, whether to reject or approve the re-zoning application of real estate developer NAI Martens to replace 40 trees and green space in Delano with apartments.

The Council Meeting begins at 9AM, however, we're down on the agenda.  The last time the Council discussed the re-zone application we were more than an hour in.  You can park in the City Hall parking lot.  I believe we can have our parking tickets stamped so we won't have to pay.  Don't forget you will have to go through security so leave pointy things in your car.  It usually takes a few minutes to go through security.

If you haven't done so, please email our City Council members to express opposition to re-zoning the green space.  You can send one email to all of them: bwhipple@wichita.gov, btuttle@wichita.gov, mhhoheisel@wichita.gov, bfrye@wichita.gov, jblubaugh@wichita.gov, and mballard@wichita.gov.

Let's try to sit together.  A volunteer is going to be handing out adhesive name tags with Delano on them.  If you aren't from Delano you can still join us as an 'honorary' resident and wear a tag.  They are mostly so we can identify each other and sit together.
