Save Our Country Park 2025

Save Our Country Park 2025
The Issue
North Ayrshire Council are proposing to CUT the park ranger service from Eglinton Country Park as part of their annual budget review.
Removing the rangers service will result in Eglinton losing it's 'Country Park' status and instead it will become open land that the council is not required to maintain as much.
It will also bring an end to education visits, several volunteer programmes, irreplaceable knowledge about the park and many more key attributes that the service currently delivers.
The community garden which has prospered over the last 4 years under the stewardship of the rangers service and many dedicated volunteers will be closed and left abandoned.
The council will meet in February 2025 to decide on the fate of the park - help us lobby the council to keep Eglinton Country Park a place for all to enjoy and keep the only country park in North Ayrshire!
📣DID YOU KNOW📣
North Ayrshire Council has offered the Park Ranger service at Eglinton Country Park as a saving in the next round of budget cuts, a devastating move that will have far-reaching consequences for our community and environment‼️
Without the Park Rangers:
• Eglinton will lose its ‘Country Park’ status – no longer recognized as the vital green space we know and love 🌳
• Volunteer programmes will end – meaning fewer hands to maintain and improve this cherished space 🤝
• Educational programmes will stop – cutting off opportunities for local schools, families, and groups to connect with nature 🍂
• The park’s future is at risk – without professional management, we could see increased litter, vandalism, and neglect 🚮
Eglinton Country Park is more than just a park; it’s the heart of our community, a sanctuary for wildlife, and a place where countless memories are made.
We need your voice to save it!
