It's a place where solace, comfort, and unwavering support through community, sober, grief, and mental health support groups is found. Madi's House has become a lifeline, a beacon of hope, and a safe haven where healing begins. This unique place shares its lot with a Behavioral Health facility, creating a hub dedicated to well-being and recovery.

However, this vital safe space is now under threat. A couple intends to purchase the property with plans to transform it into a nightclub, speakeasy, hotel, and bar. Such an alteration of the property would not only disrupt the peace and recovery of countless individuals but also potentially  affect hundreds currently recovering, hindering Madi's House and it's mission. The noise, traffic, and influx of people associated with these new developments could severely undermine the sense of safety and calm  in an  alcohol and drug free environment  that has been meticulously cultivated.

Statistics show that mental health and substance abuse are significant issues, with recent data stating that nearly one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness. In Ohio alone, thousands rely on community support services for their mental health and recovery journey. Without Madi's House, access to these crucial support networks could be drastically reduced, leaving many at a dangerous crossroads.

We call on the local government and zoning authorities in Cincinnati to deny the request for a use variance that would allow such a disruptive transformation of this property. We urge them to recognize the significant community value and impact of Madi's House and prioritize health and wellness over profit and entertainment.
