We aspire to be paramedics and our time at the cadet unit is not only helping us gain vital experience for our future careers but also provides a space where we can socialize, escape from daily pressures and learn potentially life-saving information. This experience could help save someone you care about dearly one day.

However, our cadet unit is under threat of closure. If this happens, many of us will have to drop out as the alternative locations are too far away for most families to manage. The impact of this goes beyond just us cadets - it will lead to fewer children being able to learn first aid skills due to distance barriers.
