For years, spotting rare migratory Warblers, majestic Bald Eagles, and colorful Painted Buntings has brought me tremendous JOY.  Through my studies, I have noticed a significant shift in the pattern of bird ranges. Many species are moving North. When birds migration patterns shift to the North, birds have to adapt to new food sources, habitats, and predators. I did more research, and discovered that by the early 2030s, the global temperature is predicted to rise 1.5 degrees Celsius. This affects the migratory birds because the warmer temperatures confuse our feathered friends.  As a result of global warming they are migrating back before Spring.  Recent data from the National Audubon Society shows that bird parents are leaving their nests prematurely, leaving their babies helpless.  I am hoping this petition gets the attention of the UN in hopes that they can make a part in the Sustainable Development and Climate Action project all about bird conservation against climate change.  I think that they should make climate change a priority over other problems.  Most of the places that their projects are, aren’t even going to be their because of rising seas in 15 years.  Birds play a distinctive role in our ecosystem.  As they disappear over time due to global warming this will become more noticeable.
