Our family is heartbroken but hopeful. Our beautiful dog, Blue, who is  a faithful companion and a source of endless joy, now faces the threat of euthanasia. Blue is more than just a pet; she is a cherished member of our family. She has worked for her family as a service dog. Her family raised her from a puppy at about six months old, and she is now about eight years old.  She has been in the animal shelter for about two days. She was brought to there after someone lied and said that she bit someone. Blue did not bite someone. Blue is a very kind, compassionate and loving dog.

Blue is supposed to be let out of the animal shelter on August 16th which marks the ten day end of the bite quarantine.

Blue is being held in a small cell from which she cannot easily look outside. I (Blue’s mother Kristen) have not been allowed to give her toys and to bring her out of the cell and to give her a hug and kiss.  Kristen has been going to visit her every day that she has been in the animal shelter.  She has been allowed to visit her and has been told that she will be returned to her mother and family and friends on August 16th however there is a risk that the health care department will not approve Blue’s release and that she will instead be euthanized or given away to strangers.

It would be good that Blue gets out sooner than August 16th 2026 but that day is better than nothing.
