The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh benefits from tax payer dollars that are meant to go towards their mission of rescuing animals, however, we believe that they do not have the animals' best interests at heart. Recently, Dixie, a beautiful five year old dog was euthanized by HARP even though she had no issues with aggression and another rescue in Pittsburgh was going to take her. 

We are fighting for policy change, specifically the euthanasia policy, committee review procedure, and the training and behavior assessment action plan. We are also fighting for a better utilization of rescue partners and advocacy for the dogs and cats (or any other animal brought into their facility) that are not an imminent danger to society but have been scheduled for euthanasia nonetheless.
