Save Our Alan Pullinger Youth Centre!

The Issue

UPDATE:  30/04/2025:

Currently, we have been informed that the consultation has been stopped.

Enfield council are not planning to close any of the youth centres - they are looking at how they can provide better youth services and hence they are still asking for you to have your say.

Enfield Council has recently proposed to close the Alan Pullinger Youth Centre, a crucial hub for our local young people.

The council’s own report acknowledges that this closure is expected to have a negative impact on the youth community.

Already the Council is closing seven Libraries - and will be selling the buildings. So it is likely they will do the same here - impacting any other groups using the building.

As well as signing the petition please also see the Council consultation;  https://www.enfield.gov.uk/consultations/modernising-youth-services

The Alan Pullinger Youth Centre is a staple in our local community.  Multiple organisations use this centre to provide vital services for children and young people.  The centre boasts great facilities such as a sports hall, recording studio, computer room, chill out zone, and extensive interior spaces as well as a garden.

ECYPS (Children and Young Persons' Services) is just one such organisation providing youth clubs and school holiday activities for 11 - 17 year olds.  See a documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtNqckTUWWE
