Hello Petition Supporters,

My name is Jason, and I work with Change.org's Decision Maker team. We reached out to the listed decision makers on the petition to ensure they were aware of it and to help facilitate a response for supporters like you.

I wanted to share a response we received from the Redmond City Parks Director—we hope you find it useful:

Mr. Barnaby,

For detailed information about our Teen Services project, please visit www.redmond.gov/TeenServices This includes information regarding the project background, upcoming opportunities to speak with project staff, detailed FAQs, an online questionnaire, calendar of current teen programming activities, and ways to stay involved and informed.

I’d like to clarify that no decisions have been made regarding the future of the building. These determinations will occur through a separate process with City Council. On March 18, staff presented a report to Council about the transition of teen services, with the next scheduled discussion being a study session on April 22 focused specifically about the building. Details can be found on the agendas and meeting page as they become available.

Along with other teen programs and services, we want to assure everyone that music programs, performances, and recordings will continue. An updated list of the next 11 Live Music performances, along with the new locations are available to view on www.redmond.gov/OFH under the “Music Programs” tab.

The city remains committed to providing quality, accessible programs that support teen development, create meaningful connections, and respond to the evolving needs of Redmond’s youth.

Zach Houvener (he/him/his)

Deputy Parks Director, City of Redmond
