Dear Supporter,
Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Our community effort has grown rapidly — we now have 1,676 signatures calling for the preservation of the Oak Park and Shelly Beach pavilions.
As many of you know, the concerns raised in our original submission — supported by over 500 people at the time — were barely acknowledged in the Council’s consultation summary. The petition signatures were not recognised at all in the engagement overview.
Yet the proposed design still risks:
Removing the open‑air changing rooms and replacing them with 12 enclosed cubicles
Altering the Art Deco skyline and ocean views
Reducing accessibility for women, families, and elderly residents
To ensure our voices cannot be overlooked again, we will soon send the petition directly to all Councillors and the Mayor. To strengthen our position, we aim to reach 2,000 signatures before doing so.
How you can help
Please take a moment to:
➡ Share the petition again with your networks
➡ Post it in local community groups and social media networks
➡ Encourage friends and family to sign

Warm regards,
The Petition Promotion Committee
