We support age restrictions, independent laboratory testing, accurate labeling, responsible packaging, and meaningful enforcement of product safety standards.

But broad prohibitions should not replace thoughtful, practical regulation.

What We're Asking North Carolina Lawmakers to Do

We urge the North Carolina General Assembly to:

• Reconsider provisions of HB 328 that could eliminate categories of hemp-derived products.
• Preserve a legal pathway for responsible adult access to appropriately regulated hemp products.
• Establish clear and practical requirements for product testing, labeling, age verification, and business licensing.
• Consider the economic consequences for North Carolina farmers, workers, and small businesses.
• Include consumers, industry representatives, and public-health experts in developing a fair regulatory framework.
