Our group of friends plays a game known as V Rising, it is one of our favorite games we've played together, and we've played since the launch of early access. Throughout our time in the game, one man stood above all others. His name was Nightmarshal Styx the Sunderer.

He was a warrior of the dark, a truly fearsome boss that rose above all others. He was a legendary foe, a whisper in the night, and a name heard only within your darkest nightmares.

In our time together, we spoke highly of him, and he was only referred to with his full title so that he may receive the respect a man of his caliber deserves. He was a cultural touchstone within our group, with references to his greatness made consistently throughout the two years that this game has been available.

His legend began on the 17th of May, 2022. And his reign was brought to an untimely end on this day, May 8th, 2024.

With the official launch of the game, the 1.0 update, the update that brought all of the delicately constructed pieces of this world together, he was wrested from his throne, and brought once more to the earth.

The update has been incredible, with a fantastic amount of content, and beautifully made details and gameplay adjustments that make the game one to remember forever. Yet there has been one change that stood out above all others, and brought the world crashing down from the shoulders of the vampiric titan, Atlas.

His name was changed to Lord Styx the Night Champion. He was brought to his knees, made to beg for his life, and was stripped of his dignity, returned to the world as half the man he once was.

Bring justice to our boy, return him to his throne, end this strife.
