We need to come together to keep one of the best teachers at Kaneland Mr. Gudovic, Mr. Gudovic isn’t just a teacher he’s a mentor, a leader, and one of the most dedicated educators Kaneland has ever had. He has shaped the lives of countless students, not just in the classroom but through his dedication to DECA, multiple business classes (including AP), history, child development, and even coach soccer and wrestling. He stepped up whenever the school needed him whether it was filling in for classes, chaperoning events, or fighting to secure funding for DECA.

One of his former students, now in college, said it best:

“Mr. Gudovic has been one of the best things Kaneland has had to offer. He prioritized his students’ well-being over his own, fought for their success, and never backed down when the school needed him. Seeing him be let go is not just frustrating—it’s pure disrespect. The fact that Kaneland is willing to turn its back on someone who gave everything to this school is embarrassing and unacceptable.”

The reality is, no other teacher has done as much for Kaneland, and no other teacher could fill his shoes. Cutting Mr. Gudovic isn’t just a budget decision it’s a loss for the students, for the school, and for the future of the programs he’s built. It makes no sense to cut a teacher who’s such a huge part of our school and has made such a big impact on students. Losing him would be a huge mistake, and we can’t just let it happen without speaking up.
