Hi I’m Kyla and I am trying to save our local mulberry tree from being cut down.

My husband grew up in Mount Plymouth, working at the local golf course that is now under development. My in-laws have been residents here for over 35 years, and our four children have grown up picking mulberries from this special little tree.

 This particular mulberry tree is not just a tree; it has been a constant in many residents of the communities lives , providing joy and climbing adventures for countless children over the years. So many sticky and red fingers, giggles and laughs have happened at this sweet special tree. 

However, this beloved mulberry tree is in danger of being cut down by developers who plan to build houses on the old golf course in Mount Plymouth, Florida. 

The tree is a small but important symbol of our little neighborhood and the thought of it getting cut down has made my six year old so distraught! 

We understand development is coming no matter but preserving this tree would make a small but special impact!  We propose that the development plans incorporate this historic tree, allowing it to persist as a community gathering spot and a reminder of our origins. By saving this mulberry tree, the developers can demonstrate their commitment to preserving the unique character and history of Mount Plymouth.
