Hello All,

I am starting the petition to save my high school from closing.

It has been brought to the attention of faculty, staff, students, and alumnae that Mount Alvernia will be closing its doors at the end of the 2022-2023 School year. As an alumnae this does not sit right with me. 790 Centre Street holds a special place in so many peoples hearts as the time spent there is not just strictly education but an experience like no other. This place should not be taken away from those who have came and went as well as those who are still experiencing the life that the school has to offer. "Mount Alvernia High School strived to teach young girls how to be courageous, compassionate, and articulate women who believed that life has a purpose. We were reminded to discern the "good" and how to be an effective force for it in the world. This recent move to sell the property is not a reflective of those same values that were instilled in each student. There was no opportunity given to Mt. Alvernia students, faculty, and staff to work toward a vision that the MFIC had in mind. It is because of this decision young women might have to resume high school at a different institution, next year, in hopes that it is the right fit. The Mt. Alvernia community is so unique it can not be put into words."

Together lets change their minds to keep this special place alive for so many more to experience!
