SAVE MONTYS..STOP THE WALL
The Issue
Miami Beach residents...HERE WE GO AGAIN
Developer David Martin is coming for Montys and our public land. We must unite to defeat his big money and local crony backers to preserve our community. Please sign and share this petition. We can with win this fight for our city together. Be prepared to Vote in August or November.
We know our commissioners will be on the developers side. It is up to inform our fellow residents. We have a choice.
Keep PUBLIC land IN PUBLIC hands.
• If you are voting for it because it will less than 15 floors, it will likely be much higher.
• If you are voting for it because it’s new location right next to Rebecca Tower will maintain your existing view, remember that designs almost always change. And move.
• If you are voting for it because you think Monty’s is run down and you want a new restaurant, you may not get ANY restaurant.
• If you are voting for it so that you have a quieter neighbor, remember that Suntex, the company that manages the marina, will still be in charge. And get ready for 3-5 years of construction noise!
What we have now at Monty’s is something unique. Yes, it’s older, and SunTex, the marina manager hasn’t done the improvements they should. But it’s our Monty’s. And it’s unique to Miami Beach.
This is public waterfront land that belongs to the city. Any long-term lease or major development rights still requires a citywide voter referendum (just like in 2020).
Before we hand over those public rights, we should ask remember that if the referendum passes the project can and likely will change afterward.
