We need your immediate help to ensure the approval of the revised Montrose Boulevard plan that will save our historic live oaks while delivering crucial infrastructure improvements. The TIRZ board is holding an emergency meeting this Friday, and opponents are actively working to derail this compromise solution.

TWO ACTIONS TO TAKE THIS WEEK:

1. Attend the Emergency TIRZ Meeting

   - Date: Friday, November 1

   - Time: 8:00 AM

   - Location: Law Offices of ABHR, 200 Southwest Freeway, Suite 2400, Houston, Texas 77027

   - Zoom option available. https://tinyurl.com/yff67b36

2. Send Emails to the TIRZ Board

   Express your support for the revised plan by sending email to info@montrosehtx.org and copy savemontroseliveoaks@gmail.com  Include these crucial points:

This is a true COMPROMISE plan that:

     * Maintains all essential drainage improvements

     * Provides safe pedestrian access

     * Preserves our irreplaceable live oaks

     * Meets the City's commitments to the Ismaili Center

The plan FULLY ADDRESSES DRAINAGE:

     * Includes the planned 10x10 culvert

     * Maintains all proposed curb and sewer improvements

     * Engineering experts have confirmed that culvert installation will NOT harm the trees

 The plan PRIORITIZES SAFETY:

     * Includes new ADA-compliant sidewalks

     * Maintains emergency vehicle access to the Medical Center

     * Adds a new HAWK signal at Clay Street for safer school crossings

     * Protects neighborhood streets from cut-through traffic

     * Preserves medians wide enough for emergency vehicle passage

 The TREES ARE HEALTHY:

     * Both the TIRZ's own tree report and independent expert arborist Matt Latham confirm the trees' good health

     * Claims about widespread tree disease are simply untrue

WHY THIS IS URGENT

Bike lane advocates are mounting an aggressive campaign against this compromise plan, spreading misinformation about drainage impacts and tree health. They're pushing to return to the original plan that would require removing our historic live oaks for a 10-foot-wide shared-use path—a feature that was only added in January 2023 and was not part of the original project scope.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

This revised plan represents our best chance to:

- Solve longstanding drainage issues

- Improve pedestrian safety

- Preserve the historic character of Montrose Boulevard

- Protect our neighborhood's tree canopy for future generations

Your voice matters now more than ever. Please take action today by sending your email and joining Friday's meeting. Together, we can ensure that Montrose Boulevard receives the improvements it needs while preserving the majestic live oaks that make our neighborhood special.

Thank you for your continued support and swift action on this crucial issue.

We have worked tirelessly on this for 13 months!  Please help us!  Send a quick email to the TIRZ right now.
