Reminder to please attend tonight's Montrose TIRZ meeting where the project that will remove every tree on the sides on Montrose Blvd  - 57 just in phase 1 - will be discussed.

The TIRZ meeting starts at 6:30 at the Havens Center which is at the back of St. Stephen's Episcopal church (facing Sul Ross).  You can sign up to speak for up to 3 mins if you would like - the public speaking portion of the meeting is at or near the beginning of the agenda.  Or just come and hold up a flyer to show your opposition to the planned tree destruction. Look for Save Montrose Live Oaks peeps who will be handing out flyers and signs. If you want to attend by Zoom, you will need to register via the TIRZ website www.montrosehtx.org

If you can't attend at all, then PLEASE send an email to info@montrosehtx.org with a copy to savemontroseliveoaks@gmail.com stating "Although I am unable to attend tonight's meeting, I want my comments to be included in your public feedback:  (then state whatever you want to say about their plan to cut down the trees)"

AND THEN...  GET READY FOR THE NEXT PUBLIC PROTEST ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10 @NOON.  We will hold a peaceful protest around the trees between W Dallas and W Clay which are on the chopping block to be razed with the next couple of months if we do not get a changed design from TIRZ.

The Feb 10 protest will have a Valentine's theme and we will SHOW SOME LOVE FOR THE TREES through protest and a public art installation homage to Montrose's own Knitta Please collective.  Participants are also encouraged to bring painted rocks to place around the endangered trees contributing to a collective display featuring heartwarming messages and expressions of solidarity.
